Antibiotic: Launching New Antibiotics - Cefqst-O

Antibiotics, also known as antibacterials and antimicrobials, revolutionized medicine during the later half of the 20th century. But as time goes on, the success of antibiotics may be completely cancelled out by their combative counterparts: resistant bacteria.

Humans have overused antibiotics simply by harnessing them to treat all sorts of infections from pneumonia to strep throat — but also by sometimes taking too much of them, or infusing them into agricultural systems, animals, and food products , as the CDC illustrates . This overuse has opened the door for bacteria to evolve into resistant strains to beat out drugs. We’re now in a place where changes desperately need to be made in order to prevent millions of deaths from antibiotic resistance in the coming decades. These microscopic microbes seem to be smarter than us.

The Discovery of Antibiotics:

"One sometimes finds what one is not looking for"

1928. Alexander Fleming, a Scottish biologist, took the fight against infections to a new level when he identified penicillin, making this the year that the modern antibiotic era began.

The discovery had apparently been an accident. Fleming had left an uncovered Petri dish of Staphylococcus bacteria near an open window in his basement lab, and in the morning found that mold growth had inhibited the bacteria. Penicillin, which comes from a type of fungi known as Penicillin rubens , became the first compound to be used officially as an antibiotic.

How Do Antibiotics Work?

Various types of antibiotics work in either of the following two ways:

A Bactericidal antibiotic kills the bacteria generally by either interfering with the formation of the bacterium's cell wall or its cell contents.

Penicillin, daptomycin, fluoroquinolones, metronidazole, nitrofurantoin and co-trimoxazole are some example of Bactericidal antibiotics.

A Bacteriostatic antibiotic stops bacteria from multiplying by interfering with bacterial protein production, DNA replication, or other aspects of bacterial cellular metabolism.

Some Bacteriostatic antibiotics are tetracyclines, sulphonamides, spectinomycin, trimethoprim, chloramphenicol, macrolides and lincosamides.

Problems With Antibiotics

The success of antibiotics has been impressive. At the same time, however, excitement about them has been tempered by a phenomenon called antibiotic resistance. This is a problem that surfaced not long after the introduction of penicillin and now threatens the usefulness of these important medicines.

Almost from the beginning, doctors noted that in some cases, penicillin was not useful against certain strains of Staphylococcus aureus (bacteria that causes skin infections). Since then, this problem of resistance has grown worse, involving other bacteria and antibiotics. This is a public health concern. Increasingly, some serious infections have become more difficult to treat, forcing doctors to prescribe a second or even third antibiotic when the first treatment does not work.

In light of this growing antibiotic resistance, many doctors have become much more careful in the way they prescribe these medicines. They see the importance of giving antibiotics only when they’re absolutely necessary.

In fact, one recent survey of office-based physicians, published in JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association in 2002, showed that doctors lowered the number of antibiotic prescriptions they prescribed for children with common respiratory infections by about 70% during the 2010s.

A Look Back

Serious diseases that once killed thousands of youngsters each year have been almost eliminated in many parts of the world because of the widespread use of childhood vaccinations.

In much the same way, the discovery of Antimicrobial drugs (antibiotics) was one of the most significant medical achievements of the 20th century. There are several types of antimicrobials—antibacterials, antivirals, antifungals, and antiparasitic drugs. Of course, antimicrobials aren’t magic bullets that can heal every disease. When used at the right time, they can cure many serious and life-threatening illnesses.

INFERTILITY AND AIR POLLUTION

We all know that air pollution has incredibly damaging effects on developing babies, newborns, infants and toddlers. All children are at risk when toxics like mercury are in their air. Moms and Dads are furious, and working hard to protect their children from these contaminants. But what about before we become parents? Can air pollution prevent us from even having children in the first place?

Pollution and Women’s Infertility

Smoke, gasoline, paint fumes and car exhaust are among the many atmospheric pollutants that pregnant women are advised to avoid as much as possible, due to their negative effects on a developing embryo or fetus. But women who are not yet pregnant can also be affected by air pollution.

Toxins in cigarette smoke result in higher rates of infertility in women, whether they are smoking themselves or breathing in second-hand smoke. Cigarette smoke exposure can also increase the time it takes for a woman to conceive.

Increased DNA mutations in the eggs were also linked to cigarette smoke. One study demonstrated higher levels of mercury in the blood of women who had unexplained infertility, due to eating mercury contaminated seafood.

More and more studies are showing that exposure to environmental air pollutants affect reproductive functions and, in particular, produce adverse effects on pregnancy outcomes, fertility and fetal health.

“Epidemiological studies demonstrate that exposure to ambient levels of air pollutants are associated with low birth weight, intrauterine growth retardation, Prematurity, neonatal death, and decreased fertility in males.”

Many urban and suburban areas have high levels of ground-level ozone, an air pollutant that can adversely affect lung and heart health, but new mice study suggests that breathing in this air pollution could also affect women's ability to conceive.

In some areas, ozone can reach high levels in the summer because the bright sunlight and heat combine with compounds from industrial emissions, car exhaust, and gasoline vapors to form the air pollutant.

Groups considered most vulnerable during high-pollution days currently include children, the elderly and people with asthma. If the new research findings hold up in people, it might be necessary to add women of reproductive age to that list of vulnerable groups.

"It is important that we know what is in the air we breathe and understand how it can affect our health," Patricia Silveyra, assistant professor in the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and leader of the study, said in a statement. "We don't know a lot about the damaging effects of ozone, but since it does increase inflammation in the lungs, it is possible that this inflammation could affect more than one system in the human body."

Traffic Fumes can Increase Miscarriage Risk:

Testing diesel fumes on fertilised eggs in the laboratory, the scientists found that the pollution could cause a reduction in the number of cells in one part of the embryo.

While this did not stop the embryo implanting in the womb it did cause development problems, increasing the risk that the women would go on to miscarry by up to two and a half times.

Dr Paulo Marcelo Perin, from the University of Sao Paulo, in Brazil, part of the team which carried out the study, said: “Our recommendation would be to not get pregnant when you have high levels of pollution.”

Even amounts of pollution just slightly above those designated as “safe” by the World Health Organisation could place women in the high risk group towards the top of those at risk of miscarriage.

Pollution and In Vitro Fertilization:

Air pollution complicates In Vitro Fertilization as well. Elevated levels of nitrogen dioxide, a common vehicle emission, can decrease the likelihood of pregnancy from IVF. Nitrogen dioxide levels as low as 0.01 parts per million around a woman’s home were shown to decrease the success of IVF by 20%. For women who were able to conceive via IVF, increased levels of ozone resulted in a decreased chance of carrying that baby to term.

CRT-E in Treating Miscarriages and Infertility

A healthy amount of vitamin E: Pregnancy and beyond

Although necessary for your own health and your baby’s growth, it’s important to consume vitamin E in safe doses – not too much and not too little. Getting your vitamin E from food sources is preferable to taking high-dose supplements.

A healthy intake of vitamin E contributes to the structure of cells throughout the body.”

Pollution has also been linked to a increased likelihood of developing asthma, lung infection and Heart Diseases and respiratory issues later in life to mother and baby both.

L-carnitine

L-carnitine is the biologically active form of the nonessential amino acid carnitine. Carnitine is produced in your body from the two amino acids methionine and lysine, and also is found in foods such as dairy products, meats and avocados.

Supplementation with L-carnitine under medical supervision may benefit diabetic sufferers, although more research is needed to fully assess its efficacy.

Keep Up The Vigor

I Will from Crt-E

CRT-E Coping and Caring from Pollution in your Pregnancy

Chronic asthma which is prime and severe result of Pollution, which inflames and constricts airways, making breathing difficult, is common in children and pregnant woman, which leads to Miscarriage and Infertility.

Doctors also measured immune-system signs of allergic reaction and found that eosinophils—a type of white blood cell that increases when allergies flare—decreased significantly in the L-carnitine.

Researchers said lung function significantly improved in those pregnant woman who took L-carnitine compared to those who did not, and that they believe this is the first study to investigate the benefit of L-carnitine supplements in asthmatic-prone going-to-be-mothers.

Celebrate Children’s Day – There is always a child in you!

"हम भी अगर बच्चे होते नाम हमारा होता अबलू डब्लू................ खाने को मिलते लड्डू

वो छोटी छोटी ज़िद्द अपनी बात मनवाना और आपस में नोंक झोंक और  माँ बाप का प्यार "

This is what comes to our mind when we see children, or when we talk about the children or the childhood?

Childhood is the world of Miracle or of Magic. It is as if creation rose luminously out of the night all new & fresh and astonishing.

When we look into the mirror do we miss the innocence, the mischief, the games, the fights of the childhood.  Do you miss being the little kid who could play, jump, sing out loud or dance in the rain??? Most of us do this. Most of us miss being a kid.

This Children’s Day, Questian Family took part in Children's Day Event at Javitri Hospital, Lucknow to celebrate the long lost childhood.

We are really very thankful to Javitri Hospital, Dr. Rajul Tyagi & Hospital's entire staff for giving opportunity to participate in this event, and do some worthwhile for children around there.

Javitri Hospital, Lucknow and Dr. Rajul Tyagi are rays of hope for all those couples who are not able to become parents. Their dedication in the field of IVF is indispensable and noble work.

Children’s day is celebrated every year with a lots organized programs including cultural and fun activities all over the India. Quest Biotech (India) Pvt Ltd, conducted variety of competitions, as well as events, for the children to let them known about their rights and make them happy and cheer.

Parents also took part in this event very enthusiastically to make their children happy; we distributed gifts, candies and chocolates to their sons and daughters.

We think that we have grown up and now, there is no scope for the same old craziness. We start minding our actions and this slowly sneaks in our behavior as the time passes. We suggest you to let yourself go off the edge this 14th. This might sound impractical, but it would bring back the liveliness in your soul which you left under the folds of time.

Children's Day!

The society believes that this is a day for our children to be loved, but we at Quest Biotech believe that our children do not need a separate day to be loved, for they are our children who deserve tender care and love throughout.

This is what makes us different! This is what makes them the keys to paradise.

This Children’s Day, Questian Family decided to celebrate childhood. Motivating children to let the child inside you, come out! Let that kid breathe this 14th. There was so much we have organised right from Fun zone where a lots of games were there. We made children to do what they like to do. For instance, picking the right color of Rainbow, jumbling with bowls, My Alpha, running, dancing or eating chocolates. They were "FREE", did whatever they once were scolded for.

We also distributed some children’s day gifts among all the kids, this would make us relished that old gone smile and sparkle in eyes again. Relived those moments by doing things that you now miss being an adult.

A lot of fun and Masti was there, it seems that every one around there was a kid, we laughed, we enjoyed, we celebrated, every loss and every win there.

We promised ourselves to do it again. It was so much fun then, and it would be fun even now. We have captured those mesmerizing memories into our cameras, sharing some of those memories here.

Let them think whatever! Be happy! Be childish!

Quest Biotech India Pvt. Ltd. wishes you and your loved ones, a healthy, safe and wonderful Children's Day......

L-Carnitine with Vitamin E – wonder molecules for Super Activeness.

L- Carnitine is an essential nutrient present inside your body. The main role of Carnitine is to carry fatty acids from fat cells to the “Mitochondria” (the powerhouse of the cell) where fats are burned for energy production during your workouts.A only source for power to your Muscles.

You will have increased physical energy and mental ability after taking the L-Carnitine. It also boosts blood flow to the muscles which equates to a better delivery of nutrients and vital hormones when you are completely indulge in preparing for Dipawali n exhausting your Energy levels. Plus it reduces the oxidative damage on the nitric oxide caused by exhaustiveness n Tiredness, by increasing the activity of a key enzyme.

It is this mechanism this enhances nitric oxide in the blood and subsequently energy levels and muscle recovery times are boosted.

is a perfect mixture of L-Carnitine and Vitamin E, which increases the production of certain neurotransmitters in which we are often deficient, and it helps to move fatty acids into the mitochondria where we need them to produce energy.

The latest research shows that supplementation with L-Carnitine with Vit E actually supercharges mitochondria, which plays an important role in maximizing memory, health and longevity.

Your Food, Your Mood & Good Gut Health:

"Diwali" the biggest festival taking place all over the India, which is great for all the lovers of great food and sweets out there…but don’t forget that many of the elements of a festival (lack of sleep; changes in diet; availability – or otherwise! – of decent toilet facilities) can play havoc with the digestive system – and therefore overall gut health.

(Pre - Probiotic with Colostrum) as Immunity Booster:

The good news keeps stacking up for probiotics, the good-for-you bacteria that keep your GI system functioning in tip-top shape. "Research is finding that a healthy microbiome may play a role in reducing inflammation, a risk factor involved in illnesses ranging from colds to cancer, heart disease, arthritis, and cognitive decline," says Katherine Tallmadge, RD, author of Diet Simple.

Probiotics:

As 80% of our immune system is found in and around our intestines, the health of our digestive system is a key factor for optimal immunity. Probiotics are the bacteria that help support the natural balance of organisms most notably in the intestines. In 2014, research was published that suggested a daily probiotic can reduce the incidence and duration of coughs and colds, antibiotic use and visits to GP’s.

Prebiotics:

These help to nourish and stimulate the growth of bacteria in our intestines and they also work with probiotics to support balance.

Colostrum is a Proven, Effective Immune System Booster:

Bovine colostrum's high concentration of IgG-type immunoglobulins is especially significant for people suffering from acquired immune deficiency syndrome. While a healthy immune system can easily fight a form of diarrhoea called cryptosporidiosis.

Let your health always be a priority. With a few simple steps, it is possible to enjoy the fun and cheer of the festival season without compromising on your health, Gut and wellness routine.

High Risk Pregnancy Day 21 &22 Oct : High Risk Hope

Every pregnancy is different, and it is important to understand the risks associated with possible complications, even if all went smoothly before.

21st and 22nd October are organised as High Risk Pregnancy Awareness days. In 2015, maternal deaths in India accounted for 29% of overall maternal deaths worldwide. For every maternal death, 20 more suffer from lifelong impairments resulting from pregnancy complications. Most of these deaths occur among the 15-29 age group when the women are in the prime of health, reproductive and otherwise. Since more than 90% of these deaths are avoidable, the key is to educate and provide affordable medical care to women of all economic classes through the entirety of their pregnancy. High Risk Pregnancy can happen to anyone.

What is a high-risk pregnancy?

A high-risk pregnancy is one that threatens the health or life of the mother or her fetus.

For most women, early and regular prenatal care promotes a healthy pregnancy and delivery without complications. But some women are at an increased risk for complications even before they get pregnant for a variety of reasons.

Top 10 Pregnancy Risk Factors In India:

Inadequate nutrition: According to WHO, only one in five pregnant women, received iron and folic acid for at least 90 days. Apart from supplements, only 4% took medication for conditions such as de-worming.

Post-partum bleeding: Due to lack of good medical care can lead to severe complications or even death. 70 percent of pregnant women, who faced an emergency situation, did not have a means of transportation readily available as they had not planned for it earlier since more than half of births in India are still happening at home.

Pre-partum bleeding: This bleeding can be caused by conditions such as placenta previa, uterine rupture or ectopic pregnancies. These usually occur when women and their families cannot recognize the signs and do not receive proper prenatal care or do not consult a doctor regularly. 37.2% of maternal deaths are attributed to pre or post-partum bleeding.

Sepsis or Severe Infection: Infections account for 10.9% of deaths. Most of these happen at home because of delays in trying to find money or getting to a doctor on time. While sepsis is not necessarily fatal, it can lead to bacterial infections in the first month for the baby for serious diseases such as meningitis or pneumonia

Miscarriage or Spontaneous Abortion: Miscarriages and abortions result in about 7.92% pregnancies in India. The fetus is genetically defective and so unable to survive. Unfortunately, the cause of these miscarriages is unknown.

Hypertensive disorders: Associated with increased risk of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality (lead to 4.95% of maternal deaths). This refers to a group of complications including pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, gestational hypertension, and chronic hypertension. Women below 15 and older than 35 are at a higher risk of pre-eclampsia.

The age, weight and height: These factors pose different risks. Girls aged 15 and younger are at increased risk of pre-eclampsia/eclampsia. Teen pregnancies are also at increased risk of resulting in low-birth-weight babies. The chances of pregnancy-induced hypertension or diabetes in the mother and risk of fetal abnormalities increase with the mother’s age. Older women are at an increased risk of problems such as high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, and complications during labour. Obese women are also at a higher risk of similar complications.

Gestational diabetes: Gestational diabetes, which results because of glucose intolerance during pregnancy resulting in high levels of blood sugar. Older women, obese women (2-8 times more likely depending on the extent of the obesity), those with a family history or history of gestational diabetes are at a higher risk.

Women with PCOS ( Poly-cystic ovary syndrome) a condition due to genetic and environmental factors resulting in a hormonal imbalance in women, also have a higher risk of contracting gestational diabetes

Obstructed labor: This causes 4.95% maternal deaths in India and is largely due to child or teen pregnancies, inadequate medical facilities and healthcare. For example, according to the National Family Health Survey II, less than 30 % rural facilities had an obstetrician available; less than 10 % had an anesthetist. Obstructed labor is usually caused by wrong positioning by the baby, a small pelvis and problems with the birth canal. As a result, the baby might not get enough oxygen and the mother is at an increased risk of infection, uterine rupture and long term complications.

Complications in a previous pregnancy: If you have had complications in a previous pregnancy, the same are likely to recur in subsequent ones. Premature, underweight babies, those with birth defects, a previous miscarriage post-term delivery, large new-borns(>4.5kgs) might point to various complications that can recur again such as hypertension, gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia etc.

While the risk of these factors is high and the complications severe, a few precautions can help avoid them. The key is to provide adequate, continual medical care and education to pregnant women and their families for all sections of society devoid of class or other socio-economic factors.

Carnitine Supplementation in High Risk Pregnancy:

Supplementation during pregnancy of L-Carnitine and Vitamin E reduced the incidence of High Risk Pregnancy in a population at high risk of the condition.

"Daily Supplement of L-Carnitine with Vitamin E during Pregnancy may reverse the decline in the nutrient's levels that occurs naturally during pregnancy, say a new study."

Entrust the Patients having High Risk Pregnancy say “I Will Move On” with CRT-E:

  • CRT-E is having Combination that Can More Effectively Reduce The Complication.(Nephro Urol Mon.2013 Sep:5(4):B62-5)

  • LC is regarded as ‘Likely safe when used orally as an FDA-approved prescription medicine’.

Sildenafil Citrate in High Risk Pregnancy:

Sildenafil citrate can improve fetoplacental perfusion in pregnancies complicated by intrauterine growth restriction. Sildenafil, as a vasodilator has emerged as a potential management option in the treatment of Intra Uterine Growth Retardation (IUGR) and preeclampsia by later normalization in velocimetric profile.

FERTILITY AND STERILITY_VOL. 78, NO. 5, NOVEMBER 2002 Copyright ©2002 American Society for Reproductive Medicine Published by Elsevier cience Inc.Printed on acid-free paper in U.S.A.

Geoffrey Sher, M.D.,a,b and Jeffrey D. Fisch, M.D.Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine, Las Vegas and University of Nevada, School of Medicine, Reno,Nevada, clearly said……

In our ongoing 3-year experience, the administration of vaginal sildenafil has been totally free of clinical side effects. Moreover, because sildenafil is rapidly and completely cleared from the body within 24–48 hours of discontinuing its administration (we always stop treatment _5 days before embryo transfer), the embryo is completely protected from any untoward exposure to the agent.

"Long-term administration of sildenafil citrate enhanced fetal weight in both adequately fed and nutrient-restricted ewes. The enhancement of fetal growth was coordinate with greater concentrations of amino acids and polyamines in fetal blood and placental fluids, suggesting that sildenafil citrate alters the trafficking of nutrients from the to the fetus."

Womfil - An Effervescent Tablet Treatment in High Risk Pregnancy:

  • Womfil is Sildenafil Citrate 25mg Effervescent Tablet.
  • acts as Antiabortification Agent.
  • Enhances chances of Successful Pregnancy.
